PRAYERS FOR THOSE UNWELL & RECENTLY DECEASED

Making Prayers & Dedications

Pujas (chanted prayers) are an important component of training in a spiritual life. During special tsog pujas we dedicate our prayers to those who are experiencing mental or physical sickness, and to those who are recently deceased..

If you would like to request prayers for your family or friends, please complete the form below. Please note, the Dedications list starts fresh at the start of each month.

Powa Ceremony

Powa Ceremony, also known as the practice of transference of consciousness, is performed each month at KMCC on behalf of those who have recently died, traditionally within forty-nine days of their death. Through doing Powa Ceremony with faith, compassion, and concentration we can transfer the consciousness of those recently deceased to a higher rebirth or to the Pure Land of a Buddha. Everyone is welcome.

Please note: If you would like to request a Powa Ceremony for someone you know who has recently died, please contact our EPC at: epc@meditateintoronto.com. We will try our best to accommodate your request however it may not always be possible due to the previously scheduled Education Program.

Heartfelt Prayers

Heartfelt Prayers is a Buddhist funeral service conducted at cremations and burials.

It is a funeral service in which spiritual practitioners gather together to make heartfelt prayers and dedications for the deceased person to take a fortunate rebirth.  Because this is a Buddhist service the prayers are addressed to the Buddhas and other holy beings.

If you would like to request this service please contact epc@meditateintoronto.com.
