About the Retreat
Sometimes, our mind is restless and agitated, changing quickly from a state of excitement to one of discouragement, anxiety to frustration, and so on. If we wake up in the morning in a good mood, we cannot predict that we will remain like that all day long. We usually try to find some stability and refuge from our unpleasant feelings by surrounding ourselves with people and things that make us feel secure, comfortable and happy. Unfortunately, these things are not permanent and they often let us down.
Buddha taught that in truth, we all have within us our own source of peace and happiness that can be cultivated and maintained all the time. When our mind is peaceful, we are happy regardless of external circumstances. Join this afternoon meditation retreat and discover a reliable source of refuge within yourself.
About the Teacher: Cynthia is a student on the Foundation Program and has been studying and practising Kadampa Buddhism for many years. She is a sincere and committed practitioner who loves sharing Buddha’s wisdom with others.
