Introduction to Six-session Tara Chanting

This introductory talk will be given by Gen Kelsang Thekchen and will be followed by 6 sessions of Tara Chanting in the next following 24 hours. The talk and all 6 sessions will be available online only.

Date: Thurs Dec. 31, 2020

Time: 5.00 – 6.00 pm

All sessions will be available online until midnight Friday, Jan. 2nd. You can register up until Thursday, Dec. 31st at 5:00 pm.

About the Talk:

Engaging in this traditional practice of special prayers to our Spiritual Mother Arya Tara is a very auspicious way to see in the New Year. We can purify and leave behind the past year and set ourselves up for a year of happiness and success. Gen Kelsang Thekchen will explain simply the meaning of the practice and what to expect if you are new to this. Everybody, Buddhist or non-Buddhist is welcome to join in.

To engage in the Six-session Tara Chanting, participants will need the Prayer Booklet ‘Liberation from Sorrow’.

Thursday, Dec. 31st:

5.00 – 6.00 pm: Introduction to Six-session Tara Chanting with Gen Kelsang Thekchen

7.00 – 8.15 pm: First Session of Tara chanting

11.00 pm – 12.15 am: Second Session of Tara chanting (ends 12.15 am Fri Jan. 1st, 2021)

Friday, Jan. 1st:

3.00 – 4.15 am: Third Session of Tara chanting

7.00 – 8.15 am: Fourth Session of Tara chanting

11.00 am – 12.15 pm: Fifth Session of Tara chanting

3.00 – 4.15 pm: Sixth and Final Session of Tara chanting

About the Teacher:

Though originally from Toronto, Gen Kelsang Thekchen currently teaches in England at Bodhisattva KMC in Brighton. He has many years’ experience and is well known for his warm heart and down to earth transmission of Buddha’s compassion and wisdom.

Please note: This event is open to anyone who would have booked to attend in person under normal pre-pandemic circumstances.
